It is hardly news that times are tough for families seeking midwifery support for physiologic birth in New York.
BBC is proud to offer women access to a tub for labor and birth; nitrous oxide; a rocking chair; a birth stool; non separation of mother and baby. Childbirth preparation classes are a prerequisite. Family involvement is encouraged. Doula support is highly recommended – we love doulas! There is a transfer protocol with two area hospitals when needed. Prenatal breastfeeding classes are a prerequisite and postpartum support by an IBCLC is available. A home visiting nurse checks on the family in the first few days after birth in person. The midwives keep in close contact with the family and see the woman again for her 4 weeks postpartum visit.
Anyone is welcome for an orientation, no commitment required. https://www.
